For yoga studios

Hand towels and mat covers back on the shelf before the next class

Brisbane yoga studios run through hand towels, sweat towels, mat covers, bolster covers and blanket props at a pace that pushes domestic machines to breaking point — especially hot yoga studios where the volume doubles. The Washing Club picks up, washes at proper commercial temperatures, folds, and returns. Free pickup, no contract, daily schedules for high-volume studios.

Sound familiar?

It's 4:55pm. Hot yoga class starts in five minutes.

Eighteen students are already lined up outside. You walk to the towel basket and find six. The 5pm hot yoga class burns through 36 towels — one hand towel and one face/sweat towel per student. You've got a third of what you need.

The morning load is still in the washer, half-drained, because the cycle stopped when the breaker tripped at 11am and nobody noticed. You can run a partial dryer load and pray it's enough, or apologise to half the class and tell them to use the small ones twice.

Why it never happens with us: A daily morning pickup means the towel shelf is fully stocked when the doors open. Yesterday's pile is already back washed and folded by the start of today's first class. The 5pm hot yoga walk-in is always ready, regardless of whether the on-site washer behaved overnight.

What we wash for yoga studios

Hand towels (one per student per class), sweat/face towels for hot yoga and bikram, mat covers and mat-cleaning towels, bolster covers, blanket props, eye pillows where machine-washable, and instructor uniforms. The full studio rotation.

Hot yoga and bikram studios specifically need hot-cycle washing at a proper wash to kill the bacteria that thrive in heavily-sweated towels. Domestic machines on a warm cycle leave residue and the smell builds up over weeks. Commercial cycles handle it cleanly.

Why hot yoga + reformer-yoga combo studios outsource

The towel-per-class ratio is the differentiator. A standard vinyasa class might use 12-15 towels across 20 students. A hot yoga class burns 30-40. A reformer-yoga combo studio doing both formats can push 100+ towels per day.

A domestic washing machine pushed through 25+ loads per week dies in 18 months. Commercial machines that survive cost $4,000-$8,000 plus dedicated plumbing. For most boutique studios the maths favour outsourcing — same per-load rate as everyone else, no machine to maintain.

Pricing and booking

First 2 loads is a flat $60 + GST per pickup ($66 inc); each additional load $25 + GST. The 5% volume discount kicks in automatically at 4 loads ($110 ex-GST), and 10% at 8 loads ($210 ex-GST). One load is up to 5kg.

Most yoga studios book daily morning pickups during teaching weeks. A typical 1-2 load daily pickup runs $66 inc per day; a 4-load daily for high-volume hot yoga studios runs $114.95 inc per day with the volume discount applied. Pickup and delivery are free across Brisbane.

Frequently asked

Can you handle hot yoga towel volume?
Yes — hot yoga is one of our highest-volume studio segments. Daily morning pickup is standard. Standard wash cycles + our fragrance-free sensitive-skin detergent (with oxy bleach added on request) handles the sweat and oil that smaller laundries can't.
Do you wash reformer covers and bolster covers separately from sweat towels?
Yes if you flag it at booking — separation is no problem. A separate light/dark or item-type requirement may count as a separate load.
What about studio-issued mats — do you wash mat covers?
Yes, machine-washable mat covers are standard. Yoga mats themselves (the foam ones) we don't wash — those need wiping down with mat spray, not laundering.
